Part: Soup competition at Ostal de Rampoux

On Sunday, November 20, the association “les jardiniers Bourians” will organize its soup competition. The day, which is open to everyone from 11:30 in the morning, will take place in Ostali’s multipurpose room in Rampoux. Volunteer chefs of all ages and backgrounds can participate in the competition alone or in teams.
The soup offered must be “homemade” from pumpkins and seasonal vegetables. Each competitor brings a soup pot, a ladle, if possible enough to keep the pot warm (dish warmer or other), and a written recipe to share with the enthusiasts. The soup must be brought before 11:30. Casseroles and soups are numbered to preserve the chef’s anonymity. The preparations are first tasted by a professional jury, which establishes the first prize list. Then everyone present can taste and rate which one they prefer. This allows for a second prize list. Each contestant’s cumulative scores determine the top 3 soups. The popular jury awards the “People’s Award” by filling in a slip with the number of their favorite soup. A dish can only be subjective, apart from the taste or the know-how of the chef, everything is a pleasure for the eyes and the taste buds. The prizes given out have only a symbolic value, and the main prize is the warmth and friendliness of the exchanges. Good humor must be one of the ingredients of any soup served. In addition, on Sunday morning, a group of children aged 6 to 12 who attend the Club Nature du Jardin Bourian and the Leisure Center (ALSH) in Dégagnac will team up to cook the soup for the competition. Little cooks are entitled to a free meal. Send free registration to; jardinbourian@gmail.com or 0618349634 (or Marie José; 0565415321).
